Letter from our esteemed Secretary-General
DURU KILIÇ
Dear Attendees,
It is an honor to welcome you all to the 7th annual session of İzmir Atatürk Lisesi Model United Nations Conference. I am Duru Kılıç, your Secretary-General. If you are reading this letter, you probably already know why you should be here, but let us remind you once more.
MUNIAL is a legacy preserved by generations, now bestowed upon us by our upperclassmen. Being entrusted with this conference was not an easy feat; so you can be sure that we are no amateurs when it comes to MUN, and that it isn't a coincidence you are attending the best. Our esteemed Director-General Can Karadağ and I have sacrificed months, if not years working for our titles. But it wasn't just for MUNIAL; it was for the journey where we grew, improved, and found the best versions of ourselves. Now we stand proud, confident that this year will be no short of what our upperclassmen showed us, if not better.
MUN isn't just an academic achievement, though. This is a free space where you can improve your people skills, make new connections, have fun, and enhance your cultural knowledge. For me, this journey was one where I found family, and now I am honored to be the one creating the opportunity for others to do the same.
Sincerely,
Duru Kılıç
Letter from our esteemed Director-General
CAN KARADAĞ
Distinguished Delegates, Advisors, Staff, and Partners,
It is a great honor to welcome you to MUNIAL'26, the 7th Annual Session of İzmir Atatürk Lisesi Model United Nations Conference. I am Can Karadağ, and I proudly serve as your Director-General.
MUNIAL is not merely a conference; it is a tradition shaped by generations and entrusted to us by our upperclassmen. Bearing this legacy is a responsibility we take seriously. You are not here by coincidence, this conference stands where it does because of experience, discipline, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence. We know what it takes to be the best, and we are determined to prove it once again.
Together with our esteemed Secretary-General, we sacrificed years working both for our titles and for the legacy of MUNIAL. And every single time, our experienced academic and organization teams have worked meticulously to both preserve and elevate this heritage to new heights. So, yet again, the goal is clear: to carry what MUNIAL represents to the future, to tomorrow.
So, welcome to MUNIAL'26. Where a legacy once carried by those before us, including my brother as the Secretary-General of MUNIAL'19, is now protected, honored, while redefining excellence and carried forward bridging the past and the tomorrow.
Yours Sincerely,
Can Karadağ
